Samsung Introduces Rugged Galaxy XCover 7 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC
Samsung introduced the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro, rugged smartphones and tablets aimed at enterprises and front-line personnel. The Cover 7 Pro has a 6.6-inch LCD display, a faster processor, sophisticated camera configurations, greater connectivity, and a bigger battery. It runs Android 15’s One UI 7.0, has AI-powered capabilities, dual speakers, a fingerprint scanner, face recognition, and customizable physical keyboard.
Samsung has introduced the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro, a new rugged smartphone, and the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro, a new tough tablet, for front-line workers and businesses. The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro from 2022 is replaced by this more sophisticated model, which is an improvement on the Galaxy XCover 7 from the previous year.
With a better display, quicker CPU, newer software, more sophisticated front and back camera configurations, faster networking options, and a larger battery, the Galaxy Cover 7 Pro is superior to the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro and Galaxy XCover 7.
Galaxy XCover 7 Pro Pricing and availability:
Samsung has only offered the Galaxy Cover with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The model has been priced at €609 ($693) by the company, and it will be on sale starting on May 8, 2025. Samsung did not specify which areas would sell it on that day, though.

The robust Galaxy XCover 7 Pro is aimed at front-line employees and businesses. Similar to other Galaxy XCover phones, the latest model has an IP68 rating and is resistant to dust and water. As evidenced by its MIL-STD-810H certification, it boasts Corning Gorilla Victus+ protection on the display and strong rubberized protection on the edges to endure accidental drops.
Display:
The Galaxy XCover 7 Pro has a 6.6-inch LCD with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and Full HD+ resolution. It has Samsung’s Vision Booster, which makes it brighter in direct sunlight. Additionally, it has a Touch Sensitivity mode that, as the name implies, makes the display more sensitive to touch, allowing it to detect touch even while gloves are worn. This is a highly useful feature for fieldwork and harsh situations.
Processor:
The phone’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, which has 4nm nodes, contains an Adreno 710 GPU, one Cortex-A720 CPU core running at 2.5GHz, three Cortex-A720 CPU cores running at 2.4GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores running at 1.8GHz. Samsung supplies it with 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. It is driven by AI and has a lot of features including Read Aloud, Object Eraser, AI Select, and Google’s Circle to Search. It runs on One UI 7.0, which is based on Android 15.
Camera:
The Galaxy XCover 7 Pro features two cameras on the back: an 8MP secondary camera with an ultra-wide lens and a 50MP primary camera with a wide lens. Located at the front is a 13MP camera. It has a user-replaceable 4,350 mAh battery inside. You can use the POGO pins or the USB Type-C 3.2 port to charge it. 5G with sub-6GHz compatibility, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, and one physical SIM and one e-SIM are among the connectivity choices.
Customizable Features:
The phone features two stereo speakers that enable Dolby Atmos. You get eSE, Samsung Knox with Samsung Knox Vault, face recognition, and a fingerprint scanner on the side for security and privacy. The phone includes two buttons that may be customized: the Cover Key and the Top Key. It can be used for a variety of purposes, including launching certain barcode scanning applications, which is a particularly useful function for front-line employees, such as delivery staff.
