Microsoft is striving to improve the user experience by adding new features to its Windows OS, even after 38 years of its launch. This includes creating a feature that allows users to quit unresponsive tasks with a single button. The taskbar on Windows 11 could soon be used as the ultimate destination for frozen tasks that could hinder other work.
According to reports, Microsoft is in the process of creating a feature that will enable Windows 11 users to eliminate unresponsive functions from the taskbar. However, the suggested name for this feature is only ‘End Task.

According to Toms Guide’s report, the ‘End Task’ feature in Windows 11’s latest Dev channel version can be turned on or deactivated based on the user’s preference. To activate this feature, Windows 11 users must go to Settings and select the ‘for developers’ menu from the Privacy and Security option.
Until now, Windows 11 users had to manually quit frozen tasks by right-clicking on the taskbar, entering taskbar settings, and selecting the running tasks to forcefully quit. This was a lengthy and time-consuming process, which is why Microsoft may be considering a one-click solution.
Microsoft is expected to introduce a range of new features in Windows in the near future, including control over app default settings, a publicly accessible API, and a new Settings deep link URI.
