A new under development feature from the messaging service WhatsApp would allow users to reclaimed precious storage space on their phones. This new feature will allow users to set an expiration date for group chats.

According to a report by feature tracker WABetaInfo, users can choose to remove the group within a day, a week, or even a custom date. The report also shared the screenshots of group chat’s settings section with a new Expiring Groups setting that will let users pick from the three options i.e a) remove the group within one day, b) in a week and c) with a custom date. The fourth option is to remove the expired date from the group.
When the group chat expires, users will be reminded to download any important content from the chats and then clear the conversation, according to the feature tracker.
