Starting on April 15th, all tweets displayed on the For You feed will be sourced from Twitter Blue users with verified accounts, according to Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter. The aim of this action is to address the issue of AI bots on the platform.
Musk stated that this is the most effective way to prevent “advanced AI bot swarms” from taking over Twitter, stating that the company would otherwise be in a losing position. Musk clarified in a subsequent tweet that AI bots can still be verified as long as they don’t impersonate humans.

The feature was initially introduced on iOS in January as a replacement for the Following tab and later made its way to other platforms.

Twitter is discontinuing legacy checkmarks on April 1st, resulting in the loss of verified status for public figures, companies, government, non-government organizations, and others unless they subscribe to Twitter Blue.
