Although Capcom has not officially stated that Resident Evil 5 would be re-released on the Xbox Series S/X and PS5, the game may be remastered for modern systems based on its ESRB classification.

Following the website rating of Resident Evil 6 for the Xbox Series S/X in January, the most recent ESRB classification has been released. It appears that Capcom intends to release both Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 5 on current-generation systems based on their consecutive rating listings.
Resident Evil 5 was first made available on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2009. It then transitioned on to the PS4 and Xbox One in 2016 before making its Nintendo Switch debut in 2019. In contrast, Resident Evil 6 was released in 2012 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. In 2016, a remastered version was released for the PS4 and Xbox One, with a Switch port following in 2019. Both games may now receive native versions for the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, most likely with improved graphics.
Resident Evil 9, the anticipated next mainline chapter in the Resident Evil series, was reported to be under production by Capcom last year. The director of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Koshi Nakanishi, would be in charge of the forthcoming survival-horror game.
During last July’s Capcom Next preview, Nakanishi had declared, “We’re producing a new Resident Evil.” “After seven, it was pretty hard to know what to do.” However, I did find it, and it seems substantial to be honest.
Resident Evil Village, the final mainstream game in the series, came out in 2021.
