Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) has reported a 2 percent increase in display orders year on year as of April 2018, indicating that the iPhone 14 lineup is relatively more popular than its predecessor and revenue from this year’s lineup is likely to increase as Apple sells more high-end models at the expense of cheaper models. Sales of the regular model have decreased by 36 percent, while sales of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have increased by 22 percent and 23 percent, respectively.
The vanilla iPhone 14 model’s superior performance is due to its lower vulnerability to thermal throttling. An internal readjustment process has enabled the standard iPhone 14 models to outperform the iPhone 13 Pro models in terms of consistency despite having the same chip.
