Google Search Simplifies the Online Information Verification Process

New verification methods for information on Google’s Search platform were announced by Google on Tuesday. Two new features, “Perspectives” and “About this author,” are being introduced by the company, while existing tools like “About this result” are being expanded.

The “Perspectives” tab will display a carousel beneath Top Stories and showcase perspectives from a variety of journalists, experts, and other relevant individuals on the searched topic. The aim of the feature is to present users with a range of credible opinions on a news topic, enabling them to broaden their understanding of the topic.

The introduction of the all-new “about this author” feature that will enable the users to quickly learn about the author of any content that is being currently read.

With this update, individuals will be able to see three dots next to most Google Search results to learn more about the source of information and how Google determines if the information is relevant for a given query. As part of the update, Google will simplify the process of accessing the “About this page” section.

The company anticipates that these new features will be accessible to all users worldwide in the coming days, both on mobile and desktop platforms.
