Debut Car of Apple Delayed to 2026 With Limited Self Driving Tech

The debut of Apple’s smart car is being delayed until 2026. The plan to integrate level 3 self driving in its cars has also been scrapped.

The first-ever car was supposed to be launched in 2025; according to Bloomberg, due to a radical change in the company’s hierarchy and a mass exodus of the workforce have brought those plans to a grinding halt. The report also states that by the time Apple introduces its car, it will be the most delayed project in automotive history even more than the Tesla Cybertruck.

There have been changes in the leadership of the project. Kevin Lynch took over the project head position this September replacing John Giannandrea. Speculations suggest that the change in leadership resulted in the dissolution of the team. The EV project is being considered of two firms, Foxconn and Luxshare, as partners in the EV project by the US-based tech giant. Since they are already in the EV development arena, Apple wants to use the expertise of these two firms. Apple’s EV development plans have been plagued by rumors for years.

Analysts say that the vehicle won’t be on the market soon. Due to the company’s own deadline for EV launch in 2025, it is likely to assemble another EV development team soon.
