Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Uses Samsung Slidable Flex Solo rollable OLED

Samsung Display showcased its Slidable Flex Solo rollable OLED panel at CES 2025, which will be used by Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 in July 2026. The laptop features a 14-inch rolled in screen with a 5:4 aspect ratio and a 16.7-inch rolled out screen with an 8:9 aspect ratio. The panel also features unpolarized Eco² OLED technology, a first in the laptop display industry. The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus G6 laptop has an Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor, 32GB DDR5X RAM, 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, Windows 11 Pro, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 3.5mm jack, fingerprint reader, and a 66Whr battery.

Samsung Display displayed a number of OLED display prototypes in a range of sizes, styles, and form factors at this year’s CES event. One of those panels, known as Slidable Flex Solo by Samsung Display, is already in use by a laptop manufacturer. It will be used by the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 when it launches in July 2026.

According to Samsung Display, the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus G6 notebook, which was on display at CES 2025, can reach 400 nits of brightness thanks to its Slidable Flex Solo rollable OLED panel. The laptop’s screen expands to a 16.7-inch screen (2,000 x 2,350 pixels) with an 8:9 aspect ratio when it is rolled out from its rolled in 14-inch screen (2,000 x 1,600 pixels) with a 5:4 aspect ratio.

In standard mode, the laptop’s screen is 14 inches, but when you need a larger screen, you can roll out the OLED panel to make 50% of it viewable area. In its enlarged version, two standard-sized application windows (16:9 aspect ratio) can be arranged vertically.

Additionally, the panel has the first unpolarized Eco² OLED technology in the laptop display market. Since the Galaxy Z Fold 3, it has been a feature of foldable phones in the Galaxy Z series. Through the use of on-film encapsulation, it incorporates the polarizer into the panel, improving power efficiency by 30%.
