Apple AirPods with Temperature and Heart rate Monitoring
The next edition of Apple’s AirPods Pro may have some new health functions, according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. Gurman notes in this weekend’s Power On email that Apple has been testing the earbuds’ heart rate tracking and temperature sensing capabilities. He asserts that although the Apple Watch continues to perform the latter better, the AirPods’ readings aren’t all that off.

A few times in the past year, we have heard rumors that the company has resurrected its notion of integrating cameras inside AirPods. Gurman claims that Apple now views it as “a priority” as it strives to improve its AI offerings. However, it would probably be years before any AirPods with cameras were released. Regarding heart rate monitoring, it can show up far earlier. Gurman says, “The next-generation AirPods Pro, which are in early development, may be ready for the capability.”
