Microsoft unveiled a tool on Tuesday that utilizes OpenAI’s GPT-4 generative artificial intelligence model to assist cybersecurity professionals in identifying breaches, signaling threats, and analyzing data more effectively.

‘Security Copilot’ is a straightforward prompt box that will assist security analysts with tasks such as summarizing incidents, analyzing vulnerabilities, and sharing information with co-workers on a notification area. The tool will utilize Microsoft’s security-specific model, which the company referred to as “a growing set of security-specific skills” that are fed with over 65 trillion signals daily.

Microsoft has been making numerous announcements about incorporating AI into its top-tier products, and the launch coincides with this announcement.

Machine learning techniques have been employed by Microsoft and other security software companies for several years to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. However, the latest AI technologies provide quicker analysis and incorporate the ability to use natural language questions. This feature is particularly useful for employees who are not well-versed in security or AI

With multi-billion dollar investments in ChatGPT owner OpenAI, the company has sought to outperform its competitors. Recently, GPT-4 was released to perform a range of tasks, including creating a real website using a hand-drawn mock-up and helping individuals calculate their taxes.

Last week, Microsoft introduced an image-creation feature for search engine Bing and browser Edge that will use the same technology as OpenAI’s DALL-E to generate pictures from text prompts. The company named the tool ‘Bing Image Creator’, that will be accessible to users of the latest AI-powered version of Bing and Edge preview.

Microsoft announced in a blog post that Bing chat will be equipped with Bing Image Creator, which will be introduced in Creative mode from Tuesday for both desktop and mobile users.
