On Tuesday, it was announced by Salesforce that it was working with OpenAI to integrate the chat sensation ChatGPT to its collaboration software and to bring generative artificial intelligence to its business software.

The company calling the integration of ChatGPT into Slack, its collaboration software, EinsteinGPT that would combine its proprietary artificial intelligence with that of outside partners to help businesses generate email drafts, customer-account information and computer code. Users would be able to summarize conversation threads and handle other queries with the help of ChatGPT.

The move underscores a rush among technology firms to equip their tools with generative AI, which can generate new text, graphics, and other material based on historical data inputs.

The announcement was made to respond to demand by businesses for the technology, according to a general manager Clara Shih at the company. Salesforce’s proprietary data and AI algorithms, she claims, will help it differentiate its product. She said that generative AI would help companies to completely rethink how they engage with their customers.

Company has also announced a fund for the startups to invest in generative artificial intelligence.
