Twitter has announced that the price of the Blue subscription for Android would be $11 per month, same as the iOS subscribers. When compared to monthly charges, the annual plan for web users is cheaper.

The blue check mark, previously free for verified accounts of politicians, famous personalities, journalists and other public figures, will now be open to anyone willing to pay. The plan was rolled out last year to help grow revenue.

It will be possible to purchase a monthly Blue subscription for $11 for users of the Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS operating systems. The annual plan for the subscription of Blue for web only was priced at $84. A discount monthly web subscription price of $8. The discount would be available in a number of countries, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

Previously, the blue check mark used to be reserved for verified accounts of notable personalities but the subscription option was rolled out last year to help grow revenue as Musk fights to retain advertisers. In December last year, Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter said that basic blue tick would have half the number of advertisements and the social media platform will offer a higher tier with no advertisements by next year.
